Recipes & Nutrition Analysis for Mushrooms

Natural harvest season for mushrooms are usually fall though they are available year-round.

Tips:

When selecting fresh mushrooms, look for those with a firm, fresh, and smooth appearance. The surfaces of a good mushroom should be dry and plump but not dried out.

Store mushrooms in their original packaging or in a paper bag. They may be kept well in the refrigerator for up to one week.

To clean, wipe mushrooms with a damp paper towel, or rinse in light running water and gently wipe dry with a paper towel.

Fresh mushrooms should not be frozen, but sautéed mushrooms may be frozen for one month.
